The theme of the conference was "The Third Sector as Vital Contributors
to the Attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)" as an
attempt to analyze the role and contribution of voluntary and Third Sector
organizations in the Asia Pacific region in achieving each of the MDGs.
About 130 Third Sector scholars and practitioners as well
as government representatives participated from 14 countries
